Getting Started
Safety Plans provide background information required to establish safe working practices for hazardous material/processes use and handling.
A safety plan is required for all areas that use hazardous materials, hazardous processes and storage of these items.
Requirements
- All relevant content must be filled out completely and reviewed
every year. View the User Guide for help on specific topics.

- A printed version of the current safety plan must be available in
the facility near the main entrance/ exit. - Request a door sign and post one at each entrance to the space.

Intended Use
- Emergency Planning and Response
– Used by emergency responders to communicate major hazards. - Inspections and Hazard Reviews
– Determines the frequency of inspections and the needs for
hazard reviews. - Hazard Awareness
– A resource for personnel to identify potential hazards. - Training and Education
– An Instructional tool for individuals working in an area to apprise
them of potential hazards.
