Lab Technicians

Lab Technicians are tasked with managing laboratory tools and equipment, preparing materials, and supporting researchers and students with daily tasks. With a focus on maintaining an efficient and well-organized workspace, lab technicians are essential in creating an environment where experiments can be conducted safely and effectively.

Safety is a core responsibility for lab technicians at NC State, and they are central to maintaining a secure research atmosphere. They are trained in a variety of safety measures, including the proper handling of chemicals, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency preparedness. Lab technicians also conduct routine checks to ensure that equipment is functioning properly, hazardous materials are appropriately stored, and safety standards are met. By actively identifying and addressing potential hazards, they contribute to a culture of safety and help safeguard the well-being of all lab personnel.
