Volunteers

Volunteers at NC State University contribute meaningfully to campus programs, research, outreach, and events. Whether assisting in a lab, office, or field setting, volunteers are expected to uphold the same safety standards as university employees and students.

Before beginning their work, volunteers must receive appropriate training for the tasks they’ll be performing and understand the potential hazards of their environment. By following established safety protocols and reporting concerns promptly, volunteers help protect themselves and others—contributing to a culture of safety and responsibility that supports NC State’s mission.
