Non LAB PI/Manager Registration Request

The Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Department has developed a Non-Lab Safety Plan to support university work areas outside of traditional research laboratories. These areas include facilities maintenance, groundskeeping, machine shops, automotive and woodworking shops, kitchens, and agricultural operations. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires employers to follow established workplace safety and health regulations, and this plan helps ensure the university remains in compliance.

Managers and/or supervisors requesting a new Non-Lab Safety Plan must complete the registration form below. By submitting the form, the individual certifies that they are authorized by their department’s leadership to direct work within the space and to store or use hazardous materials, equipment, or processes. Once the form is submitted, EH&S will review the information, create the Non-lab Safety Plan, and provide instructions for accessing and completing the plan with your site-specific details.
